Country Road
12 x 24 inches, oil on canvas
In honour of its 35 year anniversary, the Burlington Art Centre is presenting its Annual Art Auction in three formats this year: online, silent, and live. Each segment will feature 35 original pieces of art. I am very excited to have the painting featured above accepted into the live auction which will take place at the centre on February 8, 2013.

Last Light - Halton Escarpment
The top painting is the finished piece entitled "Last Light" completed in studio (12 x 24 inches). The painting below it is the plein air study (6 x 12 inches) that I based the larger painting on. "Last Light" was auctioned off in support of Halton Heroes, a charity that helps the families of injured Police officers in the Halton Region.
Plein air studies
Above are some plein air studies I did of the Halton Escarpment. The first one at about 7 pm and the second at around 8 pm just before the sun set. These were studies for a larger painting that I donated to the charity Halton's Heroes.

Hot Poker Plant
These flowers are from my sun garden. They plant is has really neat orange and yellow flowers and loves the sun. Was a fun challenge to paint, will have to try them again.
Study for Art In Action Live Painting
This is the study I did for a live painting I completed at the Art in Action Silent Auction a couple of weeks ago. This is the third time I have painted live at the event; lots of fun but I always do a practice run to work out the mixing of the colours and ensure I can finish the painting in 2 hours with time to enjoy the event too. The live painting I completed was very similiar to this one - just a little more polished.

Commission 2012
This is a commission piece for my Dentist's office. It is 4 feet by 6 feet and in person the colour and texture are really striking. The children in the foreground are my Dentist's. It fits looks great in the office and the nice thing is I get to go and visit it regularly.

I am reposting a painting I did at the end of last year titled 'The Gift'. For the past few months I have been so busy that I have not entered a single post and rather than beat myself up for this I am going to look at it as a Gift. Other areas of my life have been so full and busy that my posting had to take second seat for a little bit while I concentrated on a new job and some fun painting commissions. More posting to come as I get back into the swing of painting for me!

Winter Drive
This is the last painting I did for the show I have up at the Sunrise Gallery - and my favourite at the moment. (My favourite is often the last thing I painted.)
There was a great turn out for the opening yesterday - thanks to all who came I had a great time chatting with everyone.

Jenna's Cupcake
This was a commission for my five year old niece for her birthday. Lucky for me, she was pleased with it. (it has also sparked requests from my family for more cupcake paintings)
