Made a little more progress on this painting this morning - thanks to www.marvelkids.com (my son loves this website). I need to focus on the flowers and the glass a little more and then I think I will be done with this one. It will have to wait till Evan is in bed tonight so I can really lose myself in the painting. I like where it is heading even though it feels a little tight to me just yet.
Hi Tammy,
ReplyDeleteWell I am just speechless! I think you made my day! Thank you so much for stopping by my new blog and leaving such a nice message. And then I realized you became a follower! I am so pumped! You must know the feeling since you already have several. Very exciting.
This piece you are working on is lovely. I like the shapes the shadows make and the way you have treated the water and glass. I only wish I could see it in person to get the full effect of your impasto style. A girlfriend of mine uses that technique as well and her paintings are sumptuous.
Thank you again,
Nicki
Hi Tammy - thank you for leaving me a comment on my blog - thank you for visiting.
ReplyDeleteLove your thick textures!
Happy painting!
Judy
Great to see that you are back at it! I like the angles of the flowers and the shadows they create.
ReplyDeleteDon't put too much pressure on yourself when it comes to painting. It is so difficult to juggle a family and look for work etc. Paint when the time feels right. Sometimes I set goals for myself, but then feel disappointed when I can't meet them. I guess its good to have some kind of mission statement about where you want to be artistically, and then it makes it easier to set goals for yourself. (wow, am I ever preachy this morning! lol)
