I struggled with this one to get the figures just right and it took longer than I thought it should. The background changed 2 or 3 times until I finally realized that the painting is about the figures and I needed to simplify everything else. The reference for this painting was a photo I took of a motley crew ( I mean my family) enjoying a warm day at the beach.

ReplyDeleteI really like this one, and the title as well. That's what we do at the beach...just sit. lol. There is something intriguing about the placement of the figures. Its like there is a story to tell and its going on outside of our view.

ReplyDeleteYour motley crew comment made me laugh. To me this is just a wonderful piece and evokes the calm and relaxation of ADULTS enjoying the beach and the sunshine. Soft laps of the water...wonderful!
