This is my portrait of Karin Jurik for the Thank You Project that Jill Polsby organized. Jill contacted as many of the 180 artists that participated in Karin's Different Strokes for Different Folks year end portrait challenge as she could and supplied each of us with a photo of Karin. We were all sworn to secrecy and asked to paint Karin and send a photo of the painting to Jill. Jill compiled all the portraits into a book that has been sent to Karin. Please check out Jill's blog for a link to see all the fabulous portraits that were produced.
Somehow there is a double intensity to this piece, Tammy. You can see it in Karin's expression and you can feel it in your treatment of the portrait. Fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteLove your colors Tammy. This came out terrific. One of my favorites.

Hey Tammy - very nice! What a fun project. I checked out all the paintings. Any word on Karin's reaction?

ReplyDeleteGreat portrait Tammy, I love your bold brushstrokes!
ReplyDeleteTammy, what a great portrait. You have really captured the personality of Karin that comes through in her blog...she seems to have that serious side to her. I really like the way you used blues and purples for shadow. It all works really well.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful, Tammy.
ReplyDeleteLove it, Tammy!!! Great expression captured with all that wonderful texture!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
