Border Crossing

I have been working on this painting for the last couple of weeks. I took the photo of it outside and ended up with a lot of glare, (the sky is really more blue than green) it must be all that snow outside reflecting back on it. I found as I worked on this painting that the more details I edited out the happier I was with it. It was a difficult composition to work with because the overpass split the painting in half. I may go back to this piece after it has sat for a bit.

  4. I love this painting, Tammy. Is this palette knife too? I am just mesmerized by how life-like those taillights and their glow are!

  5. I've had something similar on my list of to-be-painted. But I haven't dared. I'm a bit happily surprised that a woman chooses this subject. Is it a sexist thing to say? Well anyway I love the painting, and I hope to have the courage one day to do mine.

  7. Tammy - THIS rocks : ) The cars and lights read perfectly. And I love that reflection on the bottom of the overpass. SO good!! I'd like to see it in life.
